Eskom Pension and Provident Fund Migrate to latest Hummingbird Technology

21 February 2005 - IA Systems the leading supplier of Electronic Document Management solutions in South Africa and Distributor of Hummingbird today announced that Eskom Pension and Provident Fund has decided to extend its Hummingbird investment and migrate to Hummingbird’s latest Document Management Technology.

Jawad Shahaboodin Managing Director of IA Systems says “we are excited to see Eskom Pension and Provident Fund migrate to Hummingbird’s Enterprise technology. Hummingbird Enterprise is designed to provide a scalable intuitive Document Management solution enabling users to define their own experience while working with the solution and also operate within environments they understand.”

The project will involve the migration of all current data exiting within the Docs Open (Client Server) architecture to the new Hummingbird Enterprise, 3 Tier Product Suite. This will assist Eskom Pension and Provident Fund with their archiving, retrieval and general sharing of documentation across all relevant departments. Hummingbird will also be the preferred repository for all incoming correspondence. The migration project is expected to be completed by end March 2005.

Shahaboodin continues “our research has shown that as more and more of our customers follow the trend of migrating to the new Hummingbird technology, they use more of the functionality available in the product and experience significantly higher levels of user satisfaction.”
